A copper & gold tone bow brooch with a faux emerald cut green paste, by Coro. Approx. 2 3/4" wide. Circa 1940s. A very nice brooch, perfect for the holidays.
According to the book American Costume Jewelry; Art & Industry, 1935-1950 this mark was used in the early 40s through 1942, then reappeared in 1948. I have seen other brooches using the same mold that have been marked "Coro Sterling" so I believe this was probably produced after the war, probably 1948-49.
Condition: Some scratching, most noticeable on the copper colored areas. (Gold tone areas do not look as bad as the photographs indicate.) Minor discoloration from oxidation on the insides of where the bow comes together which is only noticeable upon close inspection (see left lower side in pictures 2 & 4).
